As Thyme has grown into our ‘village within a village’ it has become much more than a place, but a way of living.
Embodying our ‘love of the land’ ethos with a focus on nature, sustainability and beauty, our handpicked and exquisitely crafted products allow our guests to engage with Thyme’s ‘way of living’ and to ‘take a little Thyme’ home with them.
With an understated elegance, the shop effortlessly combines Thyme’s own brand, Bertioli by Thyme, together with consciously sourced, artisanal products and one-off antique treasures. The result is a carefully curated collection of beautiful food, fashion, garden and homewares; with each item being led by our passion for the land, food and entertaining.
As the sunlight starts to fade at the end of each summer, chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for the vibrant greens of summer begins to disappear. This allows the Autumn’s golden hues to shine. We begin to see spectacular yellows, oranges and browns and later the final flush of reds that make autumn such a beautiful season.
It is the changing colour of the leaves and the deep, bold colours of seasonal flowers that have inspired our Autumn Leaves collection. A celebration of nature and the beauty that lies within our earth’s seasons.
Bertioli by Thyme is the daughter brand of Thyme, a green and verdant idyll nestled in the rolling hills of The Cotswolds.
With a love of nature and its depiction in fashion’s floral prints, Caryn, Founder and Creative Director at Thyme has forever dreamed of creating her own collection. A few years ago, Caryn began to create illustrations inspired by the rich botanicals that inhabit the countryside around Thyme, with particular focus on the woodlands, the gardens and wild spaces.
Transcending seasons and trends, the pieces are designed to last and be truly versatile, moving effortlessly between day and night, from loungewear to eveningwear, from Bloody Marys to martinis.
In a bid to move away from trend-led collections, the patterns will remain for years to come building seasonless ‘environments’. As the brand builds with more prints in the pipeline, we hold close to our heart the words of Patricia Bertioli, Caryn’s late mother, “Nothing clashes in nature, darling!”
Bertioli by Thyme is proudly part of ‘1% For The Planet’, a global movement of businesses giving back to wildlife with every sale. We are committed to donating 1% of revenue to environmental causes through sales of Bertioli by Thyme and are delighted to give back to the environments that inspire us.
In the Hibbert family’s kitchen, there has long been an oak counter with three weighty drawers, all brimming with table linens. Brightly coloured, heavily patterned, or plain white with beautiful embroidery – there is one for every occasion and each with an interesting provenance that sparks thought-provoking conversation around the dinnertable. This was what inspired Caryn to create her own table linens, hand painted with her ‘Patterns of Nature’.
